Katie Smafield
Founder + Creative Director + Master Stylist
Katie is the Founder and Creative Director of Salon 719, bringing more than 15 years of experience behind the chair and a career rooted in both artistry and leadership. An Aveda Institute Denver Valedictorian, her experience has taken her from assisting at NY Fashion Week to years spent as a stylist, educator, and leader in one of Colorado's Top 200 salons.
Behind the chair, Katie specializes in balayage, lived-in color, and blonding, creating customized looks that feel effortless, dimensional, and wearable. She loves color that grows out beautifully and works with a guest's real life - not just the day they leave the salon. She believes the best hair starts with listening and understanding not only what a guest wants their hair to look like, but how they want to feel when they leave.
As the owner of Salon 719, her passion extends beyond her own chair. Katie created the salon she always wanted to be part of: a place where talented artists can build meaningful careers, continue growing, support one another, and still have a life outside of work. Her goal is simple: to create an experience where guests and stylists alike feel like they belong.
Candace Grainger
Artistic Director + Master Stylist
Candace brings nearly two decades of experience behind the chair and a career built on artistry, versatility, and a genuine love for the industry. As Salon 719's Artistic Director, she brings both experience and leadership to our team while continuing to grow, create, and inspire.
Behind the chair, Candace is known for beautiful blonding, precision bobs, and hair extensions. Her experience allows her to customize each service to the individual, creating results that feel polished, wearable, and completely personal to the guest in her chair.
Beyond her own clients, Candace plays an important role in the culture of Salon 719. As Artistic Director, she helps support our stylists, shares her knowledge freely, and is always willing to jump in when someone needs another set of eyes or a second opinion. Her talent is matched by the heart she brings to the salon and that combination is exactly what Salon 719 is about.
Reina Pena
Master Session Stylist + Nail Artist
Reina brings 14 years of experience behind the chair and an artistic eye for creating fresh, modern color and beautifully detailed cuts. She loves customizing each look to compliment her guest's features, lifestyle, and personal style - creating hair that feels polished, flattering and completely their own.
Her creativity extends beyond hair as one of Salon 719's nail artists, bringing the same attention to detail and artistry to every service she provides.
On Her Screen: A magical mix of Harry Potter marathons, Lord of the Rings adventures and the occasional TV binge.
Kaity Yenter
Session Stylist
Kaity brings nearly three years of experience behind the chair and a love for creating bright, beautiful blondes and customized layered cuts with movement. She has an eye for creating fresh, flattering looks that feel effortless and completely personal to each guest.
Her warm, easygoing approach makes the salon experience just as enjoyable as the finished result.
Off the Clock: You'll usually find Kaity lost in a fantasy book, binge-watching a favorite show, or playing video games with her boyfriend.
Lexi Ricks
Studio Stylist
Lexi brings fresh creativity, an artistic eye, and a passion for creating beautiful, dimensional color. She especially loves bright blondes and creating customized looks that help each guest feel confident, polished, and completely themselves.
As a growing artist, Lexi is passionate about continuing her education, refining her craft, and building meaningful relationships with guests in her chair.
